Saline County is moving forward with a remodeling project for part of the third floor in the city county building to accomodate two new district judges and a magistrate judge in the 28th Judicial District.
As part of the state budget for the current fiscal year, the judicial branch was provided funding to increase the number of district court judges across the state. This change brings with it the need for space for seven new courst dtaff and two new jury-ready courtrooms.
The County awarded a contract to Harbin Construction that included project contingencies and design fees.
Commissioners also approved a construction manager at risk, funded through ARPA allocations, for the courtrooms. Using a construction manager at risk is expected to help save time in project completion.
