The Saline County Department of Emergency Management will ensure that the county is prepared to respond to and recover from natural and man-made emergencies through coordination with County and Local shareholders. This department provides the leadership and support to reduce the loss of life and property through an all-hazards emergency management program of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery throughout Saline County.
Building a safer future through effective partnerships of local government, emergency services, private sector, and volunteer agencies and the citizens of Saline County to save lives, protect property and reduce the effects of disasters through preparedness, prevention, planning, response, and recovery activities.

Michelle Weis has served as the Saline County Emergency Management Director for five years. Michelle, an Alumni of Kansas Wesleyan University, studied Emergency Management and Criminal Justice. Her passion for Emergency Preparedness comes from assisting healthcare organizations with their Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements. Michelle currently serves on the Executive Committee for the North Central Healthcare Coalition and is the Vice Chair for the North Central Regional Homeland Security Council. Michelle loves to spend her time running with her two dogs and golfing with her husband.
