Digital Equity Initiative Grant

The Saline County Digital Equity Initiative is a grant program to help bridge the digital divide, enhance digital accessibility, and boost digital literacy skills within our community. Funded by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), the program will provide grants ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 to community programs that help bridge the digital divide.

This grant will focus on programs that promote affordable, reliable broadband internet access. We recognize that access to the internet is the gateway to a world of opportunities. The initiative's grants will contribute to efforts that bring affordable, reliable broadband internet to underserved areas, bridging the gap between those with access and those without.

We also plan to focus on strengthening digital literacy, which means to navigate the digital landscape effectively, our community members must possess robust digital literacy skills. Grants will be awarded to programs that focus on providing comprehensive digital literacy training, ensuring that no one is left behind due to a lack of skills.

Lastly, the grant program will take on holistic digital equity initiatives because we understand that the digital divide is multi-faceted. Thus, grants will support a wide array of projects that further digital equity efforts, such as providing affordable devices, enhancing telehealth services, and promoting online government engagement.
