Our Mission

The Saline County Sheriff's Office strives for a community partnership with our citizens founded on mutual trust by providing a quality public service based upon principal, sound judgment, and guidance as set forth by the Constitution of the United States as well as laws directed by state and local authorities with the end goal of ensuring the safety and security of visitors and citizens of Saline County. 

Professional Standards

The Professional Standards Bureau (PSB) provides the Sheriff’s Office with a thorough, consistent, and fair investigative review of complaints and commendations. The PSB is located within the Sheriff’s Office and reports directly to the sheriff. The PSB has full authority to conduct investigations without interference from any employee. PSB exists to provide the following services to employees of the Sheriff’s Office and the community

  • To protect the public from misconduct of an employee.
  • To protect the department and employees from false accusations of misconduct.
  • To provide an early warning system of misconduct.
  • To identify organizational conditions that may contribute to misconduct.
  • To acknowledge employees for conduct above and beyond the call of duty.

Mounted Patrol & Rescue

The Saline County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol and Rescue Squad consist of volunteers that participate in search and rescue efforts on land and water. With the use of boats, jet skis, ATVs, horses, and other associated equipment for a myriad of rescue situations the Mounted Patrol and Rescue Squad are frequently used to locate missing persons as well as fugitives and will assist in natural disaster events. The group also participates in ceremonial activities such as parades and fairs as well as providing security at these events. 

Members of the mounted patrol are trained in search and rescue, large animal rescue, body, and evidence recovery as well as assisting the Saline County Sheriff's Patrol Division in various activities that may include regular patrol, warrant sweeps, civil process, and crime scene security.
